Renowned laboratory confirms: Glistening-free acrylic

Through an accelerated in vitro aging process designed to simulate the formation of glistenings, which can occur several years after implantation, the David J Apple Laboratory in Heidelberg has confirmed the high quality of the hydrophobic acrylic material used in zoe®. The results showed that zoe® can be described as “glistening-free.”

For the medium and long term

With this next-generation monofocal intraocular lens, zoe® enables patients to experience high-quality vision—both at medium and far distances.

Nowadays, most monofocal lenses for cataract patients only correct vision to improve the perception of distant objects. They do not improve intermediate vision, which is important for many everyday tasks.

Innovative technology

With its special and unique highly structured front surface, zoe® improves vision at medium distances while maintaining excellent distance vision quality comparable to that of a regular monofocal IOL.

The clarity of the distant focus is no different from that of a conventional monofocal IOL, but nearsightedness is improved by +0.75 dpt. ~ 1.0 dpt.

There is no glare, halos, or other adverse optical interference, regardless of distance.

Point Spread Function-Test

The PSF projection confirmed that the zoe® design exhibits a halo profile similar to that of a regular monofocal IOL. In comparison, two comparative EDOF IOLs exhibited halos with a significantly higher radius.
